The Gilroy Economic Development Corporation (GEDC) was formed in 1996 when business leaders and the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce forged an initiative to form an agency that exclusively focused on economic growth within Gilroy by promoting and facilitating business development.
As a 501 (C) (3) non-profit corporation, the Gilroy EDC is a unique, independent organization that can receive grants, contributions from partners, and other funding. The Gilroy EDC has a long tradition of close working relationships with community partners including the City of Gilroy, Gilroy Visitors Bureau, Gilroy Chamber of Commerce, and the Gilroy Downtown Business Association. Key funding is provided by the City of Gilroy, the Chamber, grants, and most importantly, from our business partners.
